Oakland Raiders Preview: Free Agency Spending to Pay Off In 2015, Derek Carr's Patience Will Be Tested [VIDEO]

 2014 Oakland Raiders Preview:

Offseason Additions: QB Matt Schaub, RB Maurice Jones-Drew, WR James Jones, OT Donald Penn, DE Justin Tuck, DE/OLB LaMarr Woodley, CB Carlos Rogers, DE/OLB Khalil Mack, QB Derek Carr.

Offseason Losses: RB Rashad Jennings, WR/KR Jacoby Ford, OT Jared Veldheer, DE Lamarr Houston.

Oakland Raiders Offense:
The Raiders started the rebuilding process this offseason on both sides of the ball and they finally have some weapons on offense. Landing Matt Schaub, Maurice Jones-Drew and James Jones will bring some consistency to a unit that hasn't had it since Rich Gannon left town. Derek Carr will be brought along to be the next quarterback for the team, but in 2014 this is Schaub’s team to guide through the hard times.

Oakland Raiders Defense:
The Raider defense received that same overhaul as the offense and maybe even more so. The additions of Justin Tuck, LaMarr Woodley and rookie Khalil Mack are a solid start, but the veterans are merely band aids on a larger problem. The Raiders spent a lot of money to rebuild the defense, but if they do not start to develop some young talent behind the veterans it will be all for nothing.

Outlook:
Oakland spent the money and they spent it well on paper, but now it’s time to see of they can put it all together. The Raiders have the quarterback of the future and they need to use 2014 as a spring board toward a better 2015. Oakland wont contend for any sort of playoff birth, but they are on the right track to being a contender once again.

Fantasy Outlook:
Maurice Jones-Drew: No. 78 Overall; No. 32 RB
Darren McFadden: No. 112 Overall; No. 44 RB
James Jones: No. 167 Overall; No. 60 WR

Prediction:  4-12 (4th in AFC West)
