Minnesota Timberwolves Rumors: T-Wolves Attempting Trade Anthony Bennett to 76ers for Thaddeus Young [VIDEO]

The Minnesota Timberwolves are on the verge of another trade Friday as they are in talks to send soon-to-be-acquired 2013 No. 1 overall pick Anthony Bennett to the Philadelphia 76ers for Thaddeus Young.

According to Mark Perner of the Philadelphia Daily News, the 76ers and T-Wolves are in deep in discussions on a deal that will send a package of assets, including Anthony Bennett, to Philadelphia for Young.

“While news came out yesterday that Minnesota and Cleveland had agreed in principle to a trade that will send All-Star Kevin Love to the Cavaliers for Andrew Wiggins, Anthony Bennett and a first-round draft pick, the Daily News has learned that the Sixers will, indeed, be involved in the deal.

A source informed the Daily News that the Sixers will be sending veteran forward Thaddeus Young to Minnesota for a package that will include Bennett, the No. 1 pick in the 2013 NBA draft.

The deal, which two sources have confirmed to the Associated Press, will not be official until Aug. 23, when Wiggins, this year's No. 1 draft pick, becomes eligible to be traded.”

The Timberwolves had been tied to Thad Young for the past week and made it clear they wanted him to replace Kevin Love in the event of a trade. Love was traded, in principal, to the Cleveland Cavaliers Friday, but the deal cannot be made official until August 23.

A deal that would send Bennett and other pieces to the 76ers obviously cannot be competed until Minnesota finalizes the trade with Cleveland. The 76ers gain the former No. 1 overall pick who had a disappointing rookie season as he battled a sleep disorder that he claims has since been cured.

Minnesota, on the other hand, is rebuilding quickly with a young nucleus that includes Young, Ricky Rubio and Andrew Wiggins.
