Cleveland Browns Preview: Browns Host One of NFL's Best Rosters, But Quarterback Situation Raises Concern [VIDEO]

2014 Cleveland Browns Preview:

Offseason Additions:
RB Ben Tate, WR Andrew Hawkins, WR Miles Austin, WR Nate Burleson, S Donte Whitner, CB Justin Gilbert, QB Johnny Manziel

Offseason Losses:
QB Brandon Weeden, QB Jason Campbell, WR Davone Bess, ILB D'Qwell Jackson, S T.J. Ward.

Cleveland Browns Offense:
The Browns offense has the chance to be one of the better ones on the NFL if all the pieces come together. If Brian Hoyer/Johnny Manziel pans out and they get Josh Gordon back before season’s end, they have a great core of players. Miles Austin, Nate Burleson and Jordan Cameron round out the passing targets and Ben Tate provides some stability at the running back position that Cleveland has sorely missed since the days of Jamal Lewis. There are a lot of “ifs” on the Browns offense, but they have the potential to be something special.

Cleveland Browns Defense:
The Browns provide the NFL with one of the most underrated defenses in recent history. Cleveland hosts one of the best defensive groups top to bottom, but many don’t know half the talent they have. The Browns lost stud safety T.J. Ward, but bring in the equally intimidating, yet not as good, Donte Whitner. Joe Haden and Jabaal Sheard round out one of the leagues best secondarys and Phil Taylor anchors an underrated defensive line. Karlos Dansby replaces D'Qwell Jackson as Paul Kruger and Barkevious Mingo look to improve as edge pass rushers after a subpar 2013.

Outlook:
The Browns have the pieces to contend in the AFC, but the quarterback situation and constant coaching carousel derail any chance they have of maximizing their talent. Until the Browns figure out if Mike Pettine is a solid head coach and who is playing quarterback, they will continue to be the underachieving Browns.

Fantasy Outlook:
Jordan Cameron: No. 61 Overall, No. 5 TE
Ben Tate: No. 63 Overall, No. 28 RB
Terrance West: No. 87 Overall, No. 35 RB
Josh Gordon: No. 137 Overall, No. 55 WR
Johnny Manziel: No. 148 Overall, No. 19 QB
Miles Austin: No. 175 Overall, No. 63 WR
Cleveland D/ST: No. 178, No. 11 D/ST

Prediction: 6-10 (4th in AFC North)
