The Seattle Seahawks are not interested in acquiring Tim Tebow from the New York Jets, according to Danny O'Neil of the Seattle Times. O'Neil originally reported Friday that the team may be multiple quarterbacks, none of which were Tebow, despite multiple reports claiming that the Seahawks had interest in the former Heisman Trophy winner.
After Seattle's decision to trade Matt Flynn to the Oakland Raiders last week, O'Neil reported that the team had expessed interest in Seneca Wallace, Tyler Thigpen, Brady Quinn and Matt Leinart, each of whom have prior experience starting in the NFL. However, O'Neil mentioned specifically that the team has no interest in using Tebow as a backup to their young, franchise quarterback.
Wallace has the most experience with the Seahawks. Before being traded to Cleveland four years ago, Wallace served as a backup for then-starter Matt Hasselbeck.
Thigpen was a backup in Buffalo last season, however, has served some time as a former starter for the Chiefs. Former first round draft pick Brady Quinn started in a few games for Kansas City last season, however, has spent the majority of his career as a backup. Similarly, Matt Leinart was also a first-round pick who has spent the majority of his pro career as a backup.
