Anaheim Ducks Rumors: Teemu Selanne's No. 8 Jersey First Retired Number in Franchise History [VIDEO]

The Anaheim Ducks are set to retire Teemu Selanne's No. 8 jersey in a ceremony on January 11 against the Winnipeg Jets in front of his home crowd.

Selanne spent 15 of his 21 NHL season’s with the Ducks and will be the first number the franchise has retired since they were founded in 1993. Selanne, also called the Finnish Flash, is the Ducks' all-time leader in goals, assists, games played and several other statistical categories.

Selanne has 684 goals in his career, good for 11th all-time, and has 1,457 points (15th all-time) in 1,451 games played. Selanne has also medaled four times in his six Olympic games and was drafted in 1988 by the original Winnipeg Jets franchise that became the Phoenix Coyotes.
