Tim Tebow Jets Workouts: QB will Attend Offseason Voluntary Workouts

Despite an uncertain future with the team, New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow is planning to report next Monday for the start of the team's offseason voluntary workouts, a source confirmed to ESPNNewYork.com Monday. Tebow is under contract for two more season, however, the Jets have attempted to shop the media favorite, with a lack of suitors willing to take a deal.

New York will likely release the former Heisman Trophy winner after the draft if they are incapable of making a deal. The Jets currently have four other quarterbacks on their roster and have expressed some interest in former West Virginia quarterback and NFL draft prospect Geno Smith.

The Jets are calling it an open competition between Mark Sanchez, David Garrard, Greg McElroy and Matt Simms. However, a source told ESPN that they have no plans to include Tebow.

Tebow has no financial incentive to show up for the workouts, but those who know him reportedly say it would be out of character for him to skip.
