Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon is gearing up for his appeal hearing on August 1 and has hired a man who has been successful in these situations before.

Facing a one-year suspension, Gordon has hired attorney Maurice Suh to help him win his appeal with the NFL. Suh is most notable for winning Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman appeal of a contested positive test in 2012.
Suh will be joined by NFLPA attorney Heather McPhee as they attempt to salvage Gordon’s season and get him active for as many games as possible. Gordon started meeting with Suh in early July and has been preparing for Friday’s hearing ever since.

Many believe that Gordon’s willingness to hire an attorney with a resume as impressive as Suh’s means that he believes he can accomplish something with his appeal. Suh and McPhee were successful in Sherman’s appeal when they proved that the cup that yielded a positive drug test had a broken seal.
Gordon has found it difficult to stay out of trouble since entering the league and was suspended for two games to start the 2013. Gordon is a Pro Bowl player and easily the best player on the Browns offense.
After hiring Suh, Gordon may beat suspension. ESPN's Chris Mortensen said he could beat it "on a technicality," (via https://t.co/oLCDu9LcyX)
