Toronto will pitch Drew Hutchison (6-8, 4.17 ERA) against John Lackey (10-6, 3.79 ERA) of the Sox.

The Blue Jays, legitimate contenders this season, have seen a resurgence from left fielder Melky Cabrera recently after he hit the skids following a torrid start to the year. "The All-Star break did him wonders," manager John Gibbons said. "He just needed to refresh a little bit. His hand speed, bat speed looks a little bit better."

Cabrera was 7-for-13 vs. the Texas Rangers in their first series after the mid-summer classic, and is now second in the major leagues in hits.

The Red Sox just finished a three-game sweep of their own though, over the Kansas City Royals, and will be laser-focused as they try to overcome their terrible first half hangover. "Given where we are right now, yes," Farrell said of this series being more important than most.

"That's not to add any pressure. That's to say that there's some additional significance to the games when you play the teams ahead of you."

They will try to continue riding outfielder Brock Holt, a surprise contributor on a six-game hitting streak. For the season Holt has hit .326 with three home runs and 22 RBI in 290 plate appearances.
