WWE News: Daniel Bryan Kept Off Of WrestleMania XXX Special After Injury [VIDEO]

Injured WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan stole the show at WrestleMania XXX on April 6 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans by having arguably the match of the night to open the show against Triple H and then walking out with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship to close the show, but none of that will be featured on an upcoming special for NBC.

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson Goes On Seven-Meal-A-Day Plan For Hercules

NBC will air a one-hour special on Aug. 3 that shows highlights of WrestleMania XXX, and despite the fact that Bryan defeated Triple H and then went on to topple Randy Orton and Batista for the championship at the end of the night, a company press release is not advertising any of that to be shown on the special.

Bryan won the title but then was sidelined by a neck injury just over a month later in mid-May and has been absent ever since. The WWE was reportedly wary of putting the title on him to begin with, and after undergoing surgery on his neck Bryan still has no timetable for a return to action and may require another procedure.

Triple H Discusses Potential Sting WWE Match, Battleground

This has led to the WWE switching gears and crowning John Cena as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion after he won the vacant title in an eight-man Ladder Match at Money in the Bank in June and he will likely face Brock Lesnar in the main event at this year's SummerSlam.

On the press release, the WWE advertised the opening segment with Hulk Hogan, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Cena vs. Bray Wyatt and Lesnar vs. The Undertaker for the special.

Hogan, Austin and The Rock opened up the show with a memorable promo while Cena fought Wyatt in one of his first high-profile matches.

Lesnar vs. Undertaker is historically significant as Lesnar defeated The Undertaker to end The Streak, marking the first time 'Taker ever lost at WrestleMania.

Bryan's title win was one of the feel-good moments of the milestone edition of the company's biggest show of the year, but that WrestleMania Moment will likely be kept off of the one-hour special.
