Money in the Bank 2014 Rumors: John Cena To Win WWE World Heavyweight Championship At PPV? [VIDEO]

Seven of the top WWE Superstars will compete in a Ladder Match for the vacant WWE World Heavyweight Championship next Sunday at Money in the Bank at the TD Garden in Boston, and reports indicate that John Cena is expected to leave Boston with the gold.

CM Punk and A.J. Lee Reportedly Expecting Child

Cena will battle Alberto Del Rio, Randy Orton, Sheamus, Cesaro, Bray Wyatt and Roman Reigns in the seven-man Ladder Match, and according to Wrestlingheadlines.com, Cena is the one who the WWE is expected to put over.

It was rumored that a heel was slated to win the Money in the Bank with Cesaro being the favorite until Daniel Bryan's neck injury healed slower than expected causing the WWE to have to put the vacant title on the line in the originally slated Ladder Match causing the company to also have to create a second match with a contract good for a title shot within the next year on the line.

John Cena Discusses Potential Retirement From Wrestling

There was some speculation that Reigns might win the Ladder Match but the speculation is that it's too soon for him to win the gold as the WWE wants to continue slowly building him up following the split of The Shield, though a match with Triple H is rumored for SummerSlam in August.

While a lot of things can change between now and Money in the Bank, it appears as though Cena is the choice to go over and it may lead to a match between Cena and Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam. Lesnar is expected to get a WWE Championship shot at the biggest event of the summer fresh off of ending The Streak of The Undertaker at WrestleMania XXX.

The WWE was slated to do a Bryan vs. Lesnar match at the event but with Bryan's status up in the air, Lesnar will likely be facing whoever the champion may be. It's expected that Lesnar will win the gold and then lose it at Night of Champions in September.

Plans could change for the summer but it seems as though the WWE is prepared to put the championship on Cena next Sunday.
