New England Patriots Rumors: Bill Belichick Wants the NFL Draft in April; NFL Uncertain on Date and Location? [VIDEO]

Always looking to expand its brand and find an outlet to make more money, the NFL is looking to keep the draft in May and move it out of New York City. Not everyone has met the proposed changes with positive outlooks and Patriots coach Bill Belichick is among them. He isn't a fan of a May draft.

When asked if he preferred the draft being held in April again, the usually quite Belichick was very vocal on the subject.

“Yeah, of course,” Belichick said. “I mean, the sooner you have your players, the easier it is to start, not only getting them integrated into your team but also building a team.

“There are certain things certain things you get in the draft, then you have to fill other areas of the team with veteran players or college free agents or whatever. When that process is going on, you can see every day you pick up the transactions, every team has got – not every team – but there’s probably 5-15 transactions on a daily basis. If course, if you had the draft (earlier), you can move that whole process up.

“Whatever it is, it is. It’s not my decision, but I would go for an earlier draft, absolutely.”

Belichick is the latest person to speak out against the draft being moved into May, but it appears the NFL isn't interested in going back. The latest rumors from the NFL are that it's considering moving the draft further into May and holding it Chicago. The draft is usually held at Radio City Music Hall in New York City, but that venue is unavailable in 2015 due to scheduling conflicts.

The NFL has yet to make a commitment to a date or a location but Los Angeles, Chicago, New York City, Dallas, Houston, Pittsburgh and Canton, Ohio, have all expressed interest in hosting the event.
