SEC Tournament champion Ole Miss continued their recent winning streak Friday with an opening round upset over heavily favored Wisconsin. The No. 12 Rebels defeated the No. 5 Badgers 57-46.
Ole Miss guard Marshall Henderson shined on the national stage breaking out of a shooting slump with a 17 point second half. Henderson finished with a game-high 19 points leading the Rebels offense.
The loss snaps a string of six straight first-game victories for Wisconsin. Ole Miss trailed 25-22 at halfime and Henderson, who led the SEC with 20 PPG had only two points on 1-for-11 shooting.
The Rebels front court were another big reason for their victory. Murphy Holloway scored 10 points while grabbing nine rebounds. Reginald Buckner chipped in nine points of his own, as well as a game-high 12 rebounds and five blocks.
