Miami Heat Rumors: NBA Finals Results Will Not Influence LeBron James Free Agency Decision [VIDEO]

The Miami Heat are staring down the barrel of a 3-1 series hole against the San Antonio Spurs, but win or lose LeBron James’ choice come free agency won’t be swayed.

According to ESPN’s source close to the situation, James’ decision to opt-in or out of his current contract will have nothing to do with how these NBA Finals turn out.

“The Heat's success or failure in these Finals will not affect LeBron James' decision on whether to opt out of his contract by the end of this month, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.

LeBrown spoke after the Heat’s 107-86 lose Thursday and was surprisingly upbeat concerning the series. No team has ever comeback from a 3-1 series hole to win the NBA Finals.

"Soul searching, there won't be much of that," James said in his postgame news conference. "We're a veteran ballclub that's won a championship, that's won a couple of championships, that's been to four straight Finals. We know what it takes to win. We've just got to go out and do it.”

"It's not all on my shoulders," James said. "It's not. I understand I get a lot of the limelight in the press and all that, but it's not all on my shoulders. I take a lot of it, but I do it for my teammates and I want them to put a lot of pressure on me in that sense.”

The Heat are looking to cap off the three-peat and their second straight championship against the Spurs who have come out swinging in four games this series. The Spurs are the first team since the 1977 Portland Trailblazers to win back-to-back games by 19 or more points in the NBA Finals.

The Spurs have won three straight road games since starting 2-5 on the road and snapped the Heat’s streak of 48 consecutive games without consecutive playoff losses. The Spurs have a chance to finish off the Spurs and take home the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy Sunday, June 15.
