Houston Rockets Rumors: Chandler Parsons Will Hit Restricted Free Agency? [VIDEO]

The Houston Rockets have made their first offseason move as they are expected to decline the option on Chandler Parsons, making him a restricted free agent. The Rockets hope to sign the 25-year-old Parsons to a new contract, but will not retain him under his current contract.

Parsons was scheduled to make $960,000 this coming season, but the Rockets are planning on matching any offer Parsons finds on the open market come July. NBA executives expect Parsons to command $12 million to $13 million annually and time will tell if the Rockets would match that rumored offer.

Parsons has voiced his opinion and has stated he would love to stay in Houston, but the Rockets could be looking to add a max-contract player to go with James Harden and Dwight Howard. The Rockets have until the June 30 deadline to decline Parsons’ option and make him a restricted free agent.
