Dallas Cowboys Rumors: Brian Urlacher To Replace Sean Lee After Torn ACL? Jonathan Vilma Second Candidate [VIDEO]

The Dallas Cowboys lost their best defensive player when middle linebacker Sean Lee went down with a torn ACL, but could the Cowboys be looking to fill the void with former stars?  Both NBC Sports and ESPN are reporting that Dallas has considered reaching out to Jonathan Vilma and Brian Urlacher to replace Lee in 2014.

ESPN’s Ed Werder believes that if the Cowboys were to go down that route they would sign both players and have a platoon at middle linebacker. Urlacher, in particular, is perfect for the Tampa-2 defense that defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli is bringing into Dallas. Urlacher hasn't commented on the rumors and is currently working as an analyst with Fox Sports.

There is no indication that Urlacher wants to return to football after retiring when the Chicago Bears didn't offer him enough money to continue playing. It isn't even known if Urlacher has stayed in football shape since retiring a year ago, but the interest is there from Dallas’ standpoint.

Aside from wanting to see Urlacher strap on the pads again, it would be the kind of move that the Cowboys have become known for as Jerry Jones loves the spotlight and making a splash.
