Kevin Love Visits Boston, Can Celtics Make a Play for Minnesota All-Star?

Minnesota Timberwolves All-Star Kevin Love was spotted in Boston this weekend, sparking speculations that the star forward is open to the possibility of being traded to the Celtics.

ESPN.com is reporting that multiple reports confirmed that Love was seen in downtown Boston strutting around town, sipping an iced latte and posing for the cameras. Citing a report from Dirty Water News, the website said Love was in Boston just to check out the city.

This is a welcome development for Celtics fans who are hoping that Love will eventually force the Wolves management to trade him to the league's winningest franchise. It has been reported that Love has told the Wolves front office that he will leave as a free agent next summer and the Wolves will have to trade him in order to get something valuable for the best player in franchise history next only to Kevin Garnett.

The Celtics have many assets that the Wolves may covet if the latter does engage in trade talks for their best player. The Celts have around 10 first round picks in the next five years, cheap young talent like center Kelly Olynyk and forward Jared Sullinger, as well as a non-guaranteed contract in Keith Bogan's $5.3 million salary.

The idea of Love going to Boston seems farfetched at first considering that Love is from California, and that he has been linked to the Los Angeles Lakers. Still, Love looked at ease in Boston posing with Celtics fans who posted the photos on Twitter.
