The return of the Colombian national team to the World Cup remains one of the best narratives surrounding this year's tournament in Brazil. For head coach Jose Pekerman, participating is never enough. He believes he has enough quality to be one of the competition's best sides.
"We are going to Brazil optimistic that we can have a great World Cup. We are definitely going to be a very competitive team," Pekerman said (via the Republic). "Colombia has improved a lot and it continues to improve," he added.
"I have an excellent group and a fantastic staff, we are truly a team."
