New England Patriots Rumors [VIDEO]: Aqib Talib Says Peyton Manning Better Than Tom Brady

Cornerback Aqib Talib usually discusses being on the defensive side of the ball, but when it came to the great quarterback debate, he picked his new teammate over his old one. Talib, who moved to the Denver Broncos from the New England Patriots this offseason, said he believes that Peyton Manning is a better signal caller than Tom Brady.

Appearing on the NFL Network, Talib said that it is his opinion that Manning is better under center than Brady.

"You gotta go Peyton Manning," Talib said via ProFootballTalk.com about the Manning vs. Brady debate. "Tom is a good friend of mine, what's up Tom, baby. [But Manning] had an awesome year. He tore it up. He like set the record for touchdowns. He beat Tom in the AFC Championship. You gotta give it to Peyton. Tom know that's my dog man, he know."

Government Puts Pressure On Washington Redskins To Change Team Name

Talib chose to walk from New England and go to Denver after the team wouldn't give him the money that he wanted, but the corner wasn't shy when addressing the fact that coach Bill Belichick was fine with the team giving money to Darrelle Revis to bring him on board.

"Bill sure didn't want to give me that money so hey man, he gave it to Revis," Talib told the network.

Talib inked a six-year deal with Denver that was worth $57 million with $26 million guaranteed.

Talib is coming off of a year where he amassed four interceptions in 13 games and had 38 tackles for New England.

Brady, a three-time Super Bowl champion, two-time Super Bowl MVP and nine-time Pro Bowler, went 380-for-628 (60.5%) last season while throwing for 4,343 yards with 25 touchdowns and 11 interceptions as the Patriots won the AFC East for the fifth straight year but were ousted in the AFC title game by Manning and the Broncos.

Manning, who won the MVP of his sole Super Bowl win and is a 13-time Pro Bowler, went 450-for-659 (68.3%) for an NFL-best 5,477 yards with an NFL record 55 touchdowns and 10 picks while leading the Broncos to the Super Bowl, where they eventually lost to the Seattle Seahawks 48-3. Manning picked up his fifth MVP award in 2013.

While there are many different opinions on which quarterback is better, one must wonder if Talib's opinion would be the same if he were still donning a New England Patriots jersey.
