David Lee Trade: Warriors Open to Including Lee In Deal To Move Up in Draft? [VIDEO]

The Golden State Warriors have placed veteran forward David Lee on the trading block in hopes of using him as part of a package to land another top-tier star to team with All-Star guard Stephen Curry, according to the San Jose Mercuty News.

With new coach Steve Kerr already on record in asserting he wants a stretch-four forward as part of the offense he plans to run, the Warriors are rumored to already be in talks with the Orlando Magic about possibly acquiring the team's No. 4 pick in the June 26 draft where such star players as Jabari Parker, Andrew Wiggins, Joel Embiid, Julius Randle, Aaron Gordon and Marcus Smart could be available.

Kerr is set to replace Mark Jackson, whom the team fired last month after three seasons that included back-to-back playoff berths.

The News reports the Magic may view Lee as a one-year rental, as after next season he becomes a free agent and the team could use his hefty expiring salary to rebuild in summer free agency. The Magic's roster already includes such young budding players as Victor Oladipo, Tobias Harris and Nikola Vucevic.

The 31-year-old Lee averaged 18 points and nine rebounds for the 51-win Warriors last season. Over his career, the nine-year veteran has averaged 15 points and 10 rebounds with his best season coming with the Knicks in 2009-10 when he averaged 20 points, 12 rebounds and four assists.
