WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan wasn't previously advertised for next week's Monday Night RAW in Knoxville, TN, however he has since been promoted to appear following Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley challenging him to forfeit his title on RAW.
Mick Foley Makes 'Major' Facebook Announcement
After Bryan underwent surgery to repair a minor broken neck last Thursday, the WWE had a decision to make regarding his title since he will likely miss up to 2-3 months. McMahon-Helmsley announced on the London edition of RAW last Monday that she wasn't stripping Bryan of the title but does want him to show up to next week's RAW to forfeit the belt.
Bryan underwent surgery after years of wear and tear on his neck due to his in-ring style, which led to him having to get his neck surgically repaired. The WWE originally thought he'd be sidelined 1-2 months and mulled keeping the title on him, however after it was revealed he may not come back until August or later, the company changed its plans.
WWE SmackDown Spoilers From London
According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, while he wasn't previously advertised, the Thompson-Boiling Arena in Knoxville is now promoting an appearance by Bryan.
"WITNESS THE RETURN OF DANIEL BRYAN WHEN HE ANSWERS STEPHANIE MCMAHON'S DEMAND TO RELINQUISH THE WWE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP," the arena promoted on its website.
It was uncertain if Bryan would actually answer McMahon-Helmsley's challenge since the storyline is expected to drag out for quite some time, but it appears as though he will in fact be on the show.
Bryan was reportedly slated to face Kane in a Buried Alive match at Payback on June 1 at the Allstate Arena in Chicago, however his neck injury tabled that plan. It is unlikely that there will be a WWE World Heavyweight Championship match at that show unless something drastically changes.
It's also unknown what Kane's role will be at the event either, as with Bryan being injured the plans have obviously changed.
It will be interesting to see what will happen with the title picture, but with Bryan apparently appearing on this coming Monday's RAW, that answer could be coming soon.
