Baltimore continues its six-game road trip after splitting a four-game set with the Kansas City Royals while Pittsburgh opens up a six-game homestand after going 2-4 on its recent road trip through Milwaukee and New York.

Miguel Gonzalez (1-3, 4.76 ERA) toes the rubber for the Orioles while Francisco Liriano (0-3, 4.25 ERA) mans the mound for the Pirates.

Baltimore swept a double header between these teams earlier this month, and Pittsburgh will look to get some revenge while also trying to get Liriano his first win of the season.

"I expect the best is yet to come for Frank; that's just what I believe," Pirates manager Clint Hurdle said per MLB.com. "It's the time of the year for him where he normally makes his move. The swing-and-miss, all the pitches were there with the command. The fastball command sets it all."

In his last outing against the Brewers, Liriano went six innings and gave up four hits and an earned run while striking out six

The Orioles counter with Gonzalez, who lasted seven innings and gave up two runs against the Houston Astros on May 10. Gonzalez ranks third on the staff with 35 strikeouts this season.

Pittsburgh was an MLB-best 15-5 in interleague play last season.

Pirates outfielder Andrew McCutchen ranks first in the National League in walks (34) and third in on-base percentage (.425) while outfielder Starling Marte is tied for fourth in the NL with four stolen bases.

Orioles outfielder Nelson Cruz is second in the American League with 12 homers while his 37 RBIs rank him fourth.

The Orioles and Pirates kickoff a brief two-game interleague series tonight at PNC Park in Pittsburgh.
