Deron Williams Trade Rumors: Brooklyn Nets Ready to Trade Disgruntled Star? [VIDEO]

Deron Williams wants out of Brooklyn and Nets general manager Billy King is more than happy to accommodate the disgruntled star's request.

Hoopcritic.com is reporting that Williams has met with Nets management and made known his request to be traded away from the team that had hoped he would be the franchise savior when he arrived via a trade in 2011.

King's problem would be if there is any team in the league that would want to absorb Williams' bloated contract. Williams is still under contract for the next three years and is still owed $62 million. Worse, the once-superstar point guard during his days with the Utah Jazz has chronic ankle issues and is no longer considered one of the best in his position unlike during his time with the Jazz when he was often compared to Clippers star Chris Paul.

However, there were rumors that the Houston Rockets are intrigued with the potential of adding Williams to their roster. Unconfirmed reports had it that Houston GM Daryl Morey had talked to King last February about dealing guard Jeremy Lin and center Omer Asik for Williams.
The 29-year-old Williams averaged 14 points, six assists and 45 per cent shooting in 64 games in the regular season. In the playoffs, he shot worse at 39.5 per cent in 12 games but maintained his 14 points, six assists norm.

On Thursday, Williams acknowledged his struggles telling ESPN: "Both years have been tough on me. I just feel like I haven't been able to play the way I want to since I've been here, really. And so it's just been tough, it's been tough to swallow, but hopefully can figure things out and get back to playing like I want to play."
