YANKEES vs METS Watch Live Stream Online & Listen: Subway Series Live Coverage from NEW YORK

Tonight at 7:10 p.m. ET, the New York Yankees (20-19) and New York Mets (19-20) close out the 2014 Subway Series live from Citi Field in New York. The game can be live streamed here. Yankees fans can hear all of the action on 101.9 WFAN while Mets fans can do the same on WOR 710.

The Mets took the first two games of the Subway Series at Yankee Stadium while the Bronx Bombers bounced back in the third head-to-head matchup Wednesday night when the series shifted to Citi Field.

Both starters make their Major League Baseball debuts as Chase Whitley (3-2, 2.39 Triple-A) takes the ball for the Yankees and Jacob deGrom (4-0, 2.58 ERA Triple-A) toes the rubber for the Mets. It marks the first time in this New York City rivalry that both starters for each team make their MLB debuts.

The original matchup called for CC Sabathia to oppose Dillon Gee, but injuries prohibited both men from making the start.

"It seems to be all across the board in Major League Baseball," Yankees manager Joe Girardi said via MLB.com. "You're seeing it a lot right now, where teams are scrambling because of injuries. It's unusual, but it just seems to be the state that the game's in right now, with all the injuries to pitchers."

DeGrom was happily surprised when he got the call-up from the Mets.

"I was surprised when they called me," deGrom told MLB.com. "I didn't know if it would come as a reliever or a starter, which one it would be. I was thinking it would be a little later, but I'm really glad it happened now."

Barring a 2000 Subway World Series rematch this year, tonight will mark the final time that Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter plays the Mets, who he has hit .367 against in his career, the highest average among active players.

Jeter, who was the Most Valuable Player in that 2000 World Series, discussed how much the Subway Series has changed since those days.

"It was all new. You felt as though you had to win the series, like it was the World Series," Jeter said via MLB.com. "It was all anyone was talking about. We lost the first game, and it was almost the end of the world. It was a long time ago. Now, it's toned down a little bit, but it's still fun for us as players. You want to win regardless of who you're playing, but the atmosphere in the city was pretty special."

Jeter is hitting .262 thus far in his final season with a homer and eight RBIs. The Mets counter with their captain and third baseman David Wright, who had his hitting streak snapped at 11 games Wednesday but is hitting .289 with two homers and 25 RBIs.

Yankees third baseman Yangervis Solarte comes into play ranking tied for first in the American League in batting average (.336), third in on-base percentage (4.14) and fifth in OPS (.935). Mets outfielder Eric Young Jr. continues to hit to keep himself in the lineup, and is second in the MLB with 15 stolen bases.

The Yankees look to force a split of the 2014 Subway Series while the Mets try to win three of four and seven of eight games against their intercity rivals dating back to last year when these two teams clash at Citi Field tonight in Queens.
