Daniel Bryan Neck Surgery: WWE Champ's Injury More Serious Than WWE Is Letting On [VIDEO]

It has been noted that WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan has a broken neck and it's an injury that the company has deemed as minor, however reports indicate that there is a feeling among some of the talent and personnel backstage that the injury is more serious than is being let on.

The WWE is optimistic that Bryan won't be out for a long time and that the injury isn't that serious, despite the fact that he needs a simple procedure on Thursday that will sideline him for an estimated 6-8 weeks.

According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, while the WWE has been optimistic and haven't portrayed Bryan's injury as a huge deal, there is concern from some people that it may be more grave than they think and there is fear that doctors may discover a major problem with Bryan's neck when he undergoes surgery on Thursday.

It remains to be seen if the doctors will find anything seriously wrong with Bryan, but he is expected to miss a significant chunk of the summer. The WWE is slated to make an announcement on Monday Night RAW this coming week about the status of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship now that the champion is slated to be out with the earliest return date likely being Aug. 17 at SummerSlam.

It was reported after the initial injury was revealed last Monday that the WWE was likely going to keep the title on Bryan because it was assumed he'd miss one or two months, but with him likely missing the Payback, Money in the Bank and Battleground pay-per-views, the company may take the belt off of him and give him a crack at the champion when he returns.

Bryan was expected to face Kane at Payback for the belt in a Buried Alive match, however the WWE had to change its plans after the injury.

It'll be known soon just what the WWE plans on doing and how severe Bryan's injury is, but for now there are some people backstage that have voiced serious concern over Bryan's health.
