There have been mixed reports on the status of WWE United States Champion Sheamus as there was speculation that he'd turn heel while other rumors the company is planning on continuing to push him as a top babyface, while it now seems he may join Evolution.
CM Punk's Friend Says He's Retired From Wrestling
According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, there is talk of having Sheamus join up with Triple H, Randy Orton and Batista in Evolution. Batista is set to leave the WWE after Payback to promote his forthcoming Guardians of the Galaxy movie before returning in August for SummerSlam, so the WWE may look to have Sheamus fill the void in the group that "The Animal" will leave behind rather than split the trio up.
Sheamus, who won a 20-man battle royal on Monday Night RAW to win the United States Championship, was slated to turn heel after the WWE's tour through Europe from May 14-25. Reports indicated that the WWE was looking to keep Sheamus a face until the tour is over because they didn't want the Dublin, Ireland native to be cheered as a heel overseas.

The WWE realizes that European fans are likely to cheer Sheamus no matter what his alignment is and felt that it's better to just wait on the heel turn for the tour to be over.
The reports of Sheamus turning heel came into question when he was listed by the WWE as a top-four babyface that they wanted to push going forward. The list includes John Cena, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan, Cesaro and Sheamus.
While that seemed to be the plan, reports now indicate that Sheamus is likely to turn heel and join Triple H and Orton to carry on Evolution when Batista leaves.
"The Celtic Warrior" was reportedly mixed up in a physical altercation with Sin Cara at WWE tapings in New York this week, though he denied it on Twitter while ranting on "smart" fans who label him as Triple H's workout buddy.
While Sheamus' future as a face or a heel is up in the air, there is a good chance that once Batista departs following the June 1 Payback event in Chicago, "The Celtic Warrior" may become a bad guy and join Evolution.
