Los Angeles Lakers Rumors [VIDEO]: Chris Bosh To L.A.? Heat Forward, Lakers Have Mutual Interest

Chris Bosh is currently focused on being a part of the Miami Heat's Big 3 and winning the team's third consecutive NBA title, but that hasn't stopped the free agent-to-be from being linked as a possible offseason target for the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Lakers finished a franchise-worst 27-55 this season and missed the playoffs for the first time since 2005, and while the team looks for a new head coach after the resignation of head coach Mike D'Antoni, it also plans to upgrade through the NBA Draft and free agency this offseason.

According to SI.com, Bosh has been linked to the Lakers several times throughout the 2013-14 season and could end up donning purple-and-gold by the time the new NBA season tips off next fall.

Bosh, who averaged 16.2 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 1.0 blocks and 1.0 steals per game this season with Miami, makes up the Heat's Big 3 along with LeBron James and Dwyane Wade, and all three members of the trio are expected to opt out of their contracts this year and hit the open market.

While it is possible they can all sign elsewhere, there is still a good chance that all three work out new deals to stay in Miami, and Bosh himself has claimed that he and James will likely stick around in Miami past this season. Still, the Lakers and all of their cap space are highly expected to come calling and could convince Bosh to jump ship.

Bosh, who had interest from the Lakers before he decided to join the Heat out of free agency last time around, could very well end up in Los Angeles next season if the deal is right.

The Lakers are expected to be very active in the offseason at the behest of Kobe Bryant, who wants to win at least one more championship. Other names possibly linked to the Lakers are Kevin Love, who the team would either trade for or wait until his free agency in 2015, and Carmelo Anthony.

While its possible Bosh will re-sign with Miami or elsewhere, the Lakers are at least expected to make a play for one of the Heat's Big 3.
