The WWE is planning on turning Sheamus heel soon but the company is reportedly waiting until this month's European tour wraps up so that the heel turn has a bigger impact.
Batista Turns Down Match With Daniel Bryan at WWE Payback
"The Celtic Warrior" wasn't in action at Sunday night's Extreme Rules event though he was a special guest on the WWE panel during the event at the Izod Center in East Rutherford, N.J., giving insight along with Josh Matthews, Booker T and Alex Riley.
According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, the WWE is planning on turning Sheamus heel in the coming weeks which could explain why he didn't have a program with anyone heading into the Extreme Rules event and was relegated to the panel.
WWE European Tour Rosters and Expected Matches
The report indicates that the WWE is looking to have a big heel turn in the works for the "Celtic Warrior" and will likely pull it off following the company's European tour, which begins on May 14 and runs through May 25.
The WWE realizes that Sheamus -- a native of Dublin, Ireland -- will get cheered regardless of his heel or face alignment when the company tours Europe, so the organization will keep him a face rather than risk him losing heel heat by being cheered overseas.
The WWE divided the European tour into two different legs, with one leg of the tour being headlined by WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan and the other being led by John Cena.
Matches advertised for Bryan's leg of the tour include the champ defending his gold against Randy Orton while The Shield vs. Kane, Ryback and Curtis Axel has also been announced.
On Cena's leg of the tour -- which Sheamus is on -- the Cenation leader is slated to main event against Bray Wyatt.
During the European tour, Sheamus is expected to square off with Christian in what will likely be his final run in the company as a babyface.
Sheamus will turn heel soon but the WWE likely won't pull it off until the end of the month when the tour through Europe is over.
