Two clubs chasing the Clausura Liga MX title will do battle today in a playoff match between America and Santos Laguna. The quarterfinal clash scheduled for 9 p.m. ET will be held at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City and can be live streamed free through the Univision Deportes mobile app.
After suffering a mediocre clausura season, Club America has returned to the Liguilla in search of another league title. In order for that to happen, manager Antonio Mohammed believes his men must improve on their regular season form (h/t to Univision Deportes). "The important thing is that we're in [the Liguilla]" Mohammed said.
"We start from zero. It's a new beginning and the eight playoff teams have the opportunity to be champions," he added.
"We haven't played well [this season]. We don't generate much up front. We need to be better, and finer [with our execution]."
"[I trust] my players because they know how to play these kind of games, but we need to play better."
