Lawson's Game Winner Lifts Nuggets Past Thunder, 105-103

The Denver Nuggets defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder 105-103 on Friday after point guard Ty Lawson hit a game winning jumper with 0.2 remaining. Lawson's heroic shot caps off a game in which the guard recorded 11 points, seven assists, three rebounds and two steals.

Lawsons game winning opportunity was possible, in large part, to a strong performance by Wilson Chandler. Chandler scored 35 points, grabbed three rebounds and recorded one assist in 36 minutes of play off the bench. Chandler shot 13-19 from the field, including 6-7 from 3-point range.

Oklahoma City saw a strong performance from Russell Westbrook. Westbrook led all scorers with 38, while grabbing six rebounds and distributing out five assists.

A key to the Thunder's loss was their inability to capitalize on free throws. Oklahoma City missed 10 of 34 attempts Friday night. Entering their game with Denver, the Thunder hit 94 percent of their free throws (130 of 138) over their previous five games.
