Chris Johnson Confident He Will Outrush MVP Peterson in 2013

Titans running back Chris Johnson guarantees he will outrush reigning MVP Adrian Peterson of the Vikings next season. The confident Johnson also believes that Eric Dickerson's single-season rushing record is also a foreseeable goal.

"I've always been a confident guy ... if you want something to happen you have to speak on it, you have to believe in it," Johnson told ESPN. In 2009, Johnson broke the 2000-yard mark with a career best 2,006 rushing yards. However, the past few seasons have been somewhat of a disappointment for Johnson since signing an extension with the Titans.

Johnson rushed for 1,243 yards last season, while Peterson had a career best 2,097 yards. Peterson fell just nine yards shy of breaking Dickerson's single season record of 2,105, the record Johnson claims to be chasing.

After a disappointing follow-up season to his 2000+ campaign, Johnson remained confident in an interview with the Tennessean in Nashville. "I feel I am still the best back in the league, and I have no problem saying that," Johnson said. "None of the active backs have done anything that I have done in the first four years, even though I had a bad year last year."
