Darren Sharper rape charges: Sharper's DNA match found on victim and her clothes in Arizona [VIDEO]

Serious evidence against Darren Sharper in his hearing for alleged rape in Arizona became public on Wednesday.

USA TODAY Sports reported that a Tempe police detective testified that semen matching Sharper's DNA was found on the leggings on one of the three alleged rape victims.

Testing also showed a partial DNA match for Sharper on the genitals of the same woman, according to USA TODAY Sports. The woman had no prior relationship with Sharper, Det. Kevin Mace testified. She was one of two women Sharper allegedly raped on Nov. 21 after partying with them and drugging them with a generic form of Ambien.

Arizona prosecutors are trying to ensure that bail should not be offered to Sharper while he faces felony rape charges in both California and Arizona. Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Warren Granville continued the hearing to today after an hour of testimony from Mace.

Sharper's lawyers are arguing that the 38-year-old Sharper should be freed on bail while he awaits trial. Sharper has been in jail since Feb. 27 in Los Angeles, where he is accused of raping two other women. Superior Court Judge Renee Korn used Sharper's no-bail status in Arizona as a reason to keep him behind bars in California.

Sharper, who played with the Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings and New Orleans Saints during a 14-year NFL career, previously had been free on $1 million bail.

In Arizona, Granville said prosecutors would need to show that their evidence pointed to his probable guilt to keep him from getting bail.

The woman who had the partial DNA match, called "Victim B" was the only woman with evidence of Sharper's DNA on or in her.

Another alleged victim, "Victim A," had a previous sexual relationship for about a year with Sharper, USA TODAY Sports reported, but she tested negative for Ambien and had no traces of Sharper's DNA on her or in her.

Victim A had to be helped back to her apartment by her roommate, "Victim C" and Victim B after she was kicked out of a bar for intoxication and vomiting.

Sharper went back to the apartment with the three and fixed drinks for Victim C and Victim B after they put Victim A to bed.

Victim C was not raped, either, according to the report, but suspected that Sharper drugged her.

Sharper is under investigation for the alleged rapes of nine women in five states since September - two in Los Angeles, two in Tempe, Ariz., two in Las Vegas, two in New Orleans and one in Miami Beach, Fla., USA TODAY reported.
