The latest reports from The New York Daily News are that Johnson is visiting the Jets Tuesday and has some other suitors that have yet to be disclosed.

The Daily News has learned that the Jets remain one of the few serious suitors for free-agent running back Chris Johnson one week after the three-time Pro Bowler officially hit the open market. Although much of the initial buzz surrounding Johnson has quieted in recent days, the Jets are among a few teams in talks with him.

The initial rumors that Johnson’s work ethic was what was forcing teams away from him have turned out not be true. The factor that his hindering Johnson is that he is asking for much more money than what the market says he is worth. Johnson was to make $8 million with the Titans this coming season and in an attempt to trade him, Johnson decided he would restructure.

The Titans were clearly unable to deal Johnson before releasing him and the pay cut he was willing to take wasn't enough to coax a team into dealing for the former 2,000-yard rusher. The other three teams interested in Johnson are still a mystery, but expect them to reveal themselves and ask Johnson for a visit. Johnson has said he will not workout for teams that ask and that his game tapes are enough to go by.

When the dust clears and Johnson realizes his actual value, he will find himself in New York barring a major offer from somewhere else.
