Colin Kaepernick took to Twitter on Friday to deny a TMZ report that he was being investigated for an alleged sexual assault.
Did TMZ jump to conclusions with Kaepernick?
On Thursday, the sports world was shocked when TMZ reported that Kaepernick was being investigated for sexual assault in Miami. Later in the day, the details became cloudier when Miami Police spokesman Rene Pimental told the San Jose Mercury News that TMZ “took the report out of context.”
“There’s no evidence of a crime or a sexual assault,” Pimental told the Mercury News. “This report is simply an incident report taken at the woman’s request.”
Less than 24 hours later, Kaepernick is denying everything on Twitter. See what the 49ers signal caller had to say below:
(1/3) The charges made in the TMZ story and other stories I’ve seen are completely wrong. They make things up about me that never happened.

(2/3) I take great pride in who I am and what I do, but I guess sometimes you have to deal with someone who makes things up. — Colin Kaepernick (@Kaepernick7) April 11, 2014
(3/3) I want to thank all of the people who have shared their encouraging sentiments. I assure you that your faith is not misplaced.
