Boras represents Bryce Harper, who has been compared to Trout throughout their careers. Many baseball analysts consider them peers, even though Harper has not lived up to the hype the way Trout. Boras seamlessly compares the two star outfielders to tea, while hinting that Harper would not accept a similar deal.

“I have the pleasure and privilege of watching Mike Trout play every night. I think he’s a very special cup of tea, for which he is deserving of a completely different brew. While few, I definitely consider Bryce Harper as part of the next generation of elite brand of teas. Certainly as a studied connoisseur, I may hold a differing opinion as to the availability, demand and value of tea futures,” Boras told Adam Kilgore of the Washington Post.

Harper is under team control through 2018, which is his age-28 season. If Harper continues to develop into the five-tool superstar that many believe he can, Boras will look to make him the highest-paid athlete in professional sports history when he reaches free agency.
