Pau Gasol didn't travel with the Los Angeles Lakers when they embarked for their two-game road trip through Milwaukee and Minnesota for battles with the Bucks and Timberwolves, due to lingering symptoms of vertigo that he suffered over the weekend.
ESPN Los Angeles reports that Gasol met with ear, nose and throat specialist Dr. John Rehm, who made the determination that Gasol should stay back in Los Angeles to rest and recover from the recent problem. Gasol is not expected to meet the team by taking a commercial flight later in the week, according to the report.
Gasol, a 13-year NBA veteran, is considered day-to-day and has not yet been cleared for basketball activities, casting doubt on how long it will be until he returns. Gasol experienced nausea and dizziness in the team's 103-94 win over the Orlando Magic on Sunday and had to leave the game before its conclusion.

Gasol spent the night in the hospital and there is no timetable for his return to basketball activities. The seven-foot power forward will sit out Thursday's game with the Bucks and Friday's tilt with the Timberwolves, but it remains to be seen if he'll play on Sunday when the Lakers host the Phoenix Suns.
ESPN reported that Gasol will meet with Dr. Rehm on a daily basis for updates on his condition.
It's been a lost season for the Lakers with Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash each missing significant time while the team limped to a 24-46 record, missing the playoffs for the first time since 2005.
Gasol, 33, has averaged 17.5 points per game, 9.8 rebounds per game and 3.3 assists per game.
