Today at 9:40 p.m. ET, No. 2 Villanova (29-4, 16-2 Big East) and No. 7 UConn (27-8, 12-6 AAC) tip off live from the First Niagara Center in Buffalo, N.Y. as part of the NCAA March Madness tournament. The game can be live streamed for free here and can also be viewed on TBS. UConn fans can hear all the action on WTIC 1080 while Villanova fans can do the same on 950 WEPN.
After a slow start against Milwaukee, Villanova coach Jay Wright doesn't believe his team will be taking UConn lightly.
"These guys have been recruited by UConn. They've watched UConn. So I think our guys are very dialed in because they have great respect for the tradition, but also the current team," he told ESPN.
The team looks like they're ready to come out strong and are hungry for the challenge of facing UConn.
"You want to play against the best," Villanova senior swingman James Bell, who leads the team with an average of 14.5 points per game, told ESPN. "We have great teams in our league now. But Syracuse, Connecticut, they brought an extra edge to our league that you kind of miss. It's just great playing them again."
The Huskies have history on their side, defeating the Wildcats in 18 of the last 26 meetings and five of the last six.
"You feel familiarized with them," Huskies coach Kevin Ollie said, according to ESPN. "But at the end of the day, it's a basketball game. I don't care what league we're playing against. We've got to go out there and play."
UConn will turn to Shabazz Napier after he put up 24 points in their win over Saint Joseph's. Napier leads the team in points per game (17.4), rebounds per game (5.9) and assists per game (4.9).
The Madness continues when UConn and Connecticut take the court against each other tonight in Buffalo
