George Washington will be looking to overcome the many doubters the program has as it looks to advance while Memphis enters to tournament after falling out of the Top 25 for the first time this season.

The Tigers dropped three of five to end the season and will be looking to take their growing frustrations out on George Washington as anything can happen in a one-game playoff as the team has been inconsistent.

"We've been kind of a little bit up and down in the stretch," coach Josh Pastner said, according to ESPN. "... I just think you get here in a one-game situation, anything can happen. I really believe if you make shots and make 3s and you defend the 3, you're probably going to advance. And if you don't make 3s and you don't defend the 3 well, then the plane ride is going to be going back Saturday morning."

The Colonials earned their first tournament berth since 2007 and will look to continue to play above many people's expectations. George Washington was 13-17 in 2012-13, but was able to exceed expectations this season with an 11-win improvement.

George Washington coach Mike Lonergan said he doesn't expect to have guard Kethan Savage available after he missed eight weeks with a broken left foot.

David Pellom will play against his former teammates after transferring from GW to Memphis during the offseason.

March Madness continues when George Washington and Memphis go head-to-head today in Raleigh.
