Arizona Diamondbacks News: Interested in a $25 corn dog? D-Backs set to debut "D-Bat" [GIFS] [VIDEO]

In the never ending quest to one-up each other at every turn the Arizona Diamondbacks have created a 18-inch corndog with all the fixings.

The D-Bat dog is the latest extravagant food that ballparks have created to accommodate the large appetites of baseball fans. As for the “bat” itself it's an 18-inch corndog stuffed with cheddar cheese, jalapeños and bacon, served with a side of fries. For a easy $25 you can have one of these monsters of the concession stands as well as a story of how you survived.

Via ESPN a team official revealed the new food and also received a comment on the reveal from CEO and president Derrick Hall:

”This is really about providing our fans with new options each year, and in the case of some of our larger items, it's really about sharing with the family," Hall said. "We don't have any expectations for the D-Bat, but we'll look forward to seeing if it becomes popular with our fans. Every night for us is a successful night because we offer the most affordable food prices in all of baseball."

This corn dog looks like a direct answer to the 2-footlong “Broomstick” the Texas Rangers unveiled in 2012. Despite the negative reviews of the “Broomsticks” price the Rangers sold 20,000 in the first season.
