Derrick Rose injury update: Bulls star 'doing more running, body feels good' [VIDEO]

Derrick Rose is "doing more running, his body feels good and his spirit is strong" as he seeks to rehab from his second straight season-ending knee injury.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports the youngest MVP in NBA history "just keeps concentrating on his rehab" and even remains hopeful he may soon be able to return to practice with Joakim Noah and the rest of his surging teammates.

"We'll see," coach Tom Thibodeau told the Sun-Times. "Just put everything you have into each and every day with the rehab, get stronger. We want to make sure he's completely healthy before he moves forward.''

Rose was recently spotted engaging in advanced drills that tested his repaired right meniscus, such as jab steps and backpedaling. Whether he's allowed to return to practice anytime this season or not, the 25-year-old All-star guard is on record in asserting he hopes to play for USA Basketball at the World Cup of Basketball later this summer.

"If my leg is feeling healthy and I'm there, I'm all in,'' Rose previously told reporters. "Of course I want to play for that team. Playing for that team [in the summer of 2010], I think it helped the year I won MVP, just getting in a groove. So I'm excited if I am able to play in it.''
