Hakeem Nicks Panthers rumors [VIDEO]: Colts, Chargers in mix, Nicks calls himself a 'missing link'

Hakeem Nicks is about to hit the free agent market and the wide receiver has already speculated possible landing spots, including the Indianapolis Colts, San Diego Chargers and Carolina Panthers.

According to ESPN, Nicks has insisted that the knee and foot injuries that have plagued him over the last couple of seasons in New York are behind him and that he hopes to provide "a missing link" to any team with championship aspirations. He added that he's interested in signing with "a number of teams."

After five seasons with quarterback Eli Manning, Nicks talked about what quarterbacks he can envision catching passes from next season.

"I know if I went to a place like Indianapolis, I would be dangerous with a quarterback like Andrew Luck," Nicks told ESPN. "I can see myself catching passes from Cam Newton or even Philip Rivers."

It's unknown at this time if the Colts, Chargers or Panthers are interested in landing Nicks, however he does have ties to Carolina since he is a North Carolina native and played football at the University of North Carolina. Add in the fact that the Panthers could use a wide receiver, and the speculation has heated up that Nicks could potentially land there.

Nicks isn't in the market for a one-year deal that would allow him to prove himself with a new team before signing a long-term pact due to his injury risk, as the receiver said he "wants a long-term deal" and that he wanted to make that clear.

Nicks played in 15 games for the Giants last year, recording 56 catches for 896 yards while never reaching the end zone.

It remains to be seen where he will catch his next pass, and who will be throwing it his way.
