Knicks Jalen Brunson Injury Update

After suffering a knee injury in the Knicks' 108-97 win against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday, Jalen Brunson would be listed as questionable ahead of tonight's game against the Atlanta Hawks, per SNY's Ian Begley.

Jalen Brunson came down with a scary injury after 47 seconds of play on Sunday when he took an awkward fall while taking a jump shot.

When he landed, he grabbed his knee and fell to the ground in pain. Brunson wasn't able to apply pressure on leg and was then taken to the locker room to be examined.

Initial X-rays came back negative and the diagnosis stayed the same following Monday. Brunson avoided a potentially serious injury and remains questionable for tonight with a left knee contusion.

Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau called his injury concerning, however, he felt a lot better after he got the X-Ray results back.

"Anytime someone goes down like that, you have concern. But then he felt a little better. He had the X-rays. He was examined by the doctors, so that news is good," the Knicks coach said.

Jalen Brunson Injury Added to Knicks

The Knicks are definitely a better team with Brunson on the court.

In his second season in New York, the 27 year old has emerged as a star, averaging 27.2 points and a career-high 6.6 assists per game. He made his first All-Star game selection this season and took the Knicks to the second round in the playoffs last season, where they unfortunately lost to the Miami Heat.

The Knicks started the 2024 NBA season as one of the hottest teams in the league, however, they cooled off due to injuries to key stars.

The Knicks are currently without OG Anunoby and Julius Randle as well.

Currently at 36-25, the Knicks stand as the fourth seed in the East and remain in the NBA playoff mix.
