Arizona Diamondbacks catcher Gabriel Moreno had to leave the game early during their victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 3 of the National League Division Series on Wednesday night, October 11, due to a hand injury.

The 23-year-old's injury occurred when the Los Angeles Dodgers' Chris Taylor fouled off a bunt attempt, striking Moreno's right hand while batting against pitcher Joe Mantiply in the fifth inning.

The training staff assessed Moreno after the injury. Subsequently, he engaged in some short toss with first baseman Christian Walker, although his throws were not the most accurate.

The Venezuelan made history by becoming the youngest catcher in MLB history to hit three home runs during a single postseason run.

He achieved this milestone with a 420-foot home run into the left field bleachers, extending the Diamondbacks' lead to 4-0 earlier in the game.

"I'll be ready for the next series. It feels amazing. It's just a special moment to sweep L.A. - so happy," the catcher said after the game.

The Diamondbacks are set to return to the NLCS for the first time since 2007, and they will face either the Philadelphia Phillies or Atlanta Braves in the upcoming series.
