Today at 3:30 p.m. ET, No. 24 Auburn (5-1, 2-1 SEC) goes head-to-head with No. 7 Texas A&M (5-1. 2-1 SEC) live from Kyle Field in Texas. The game can be live streamed here. Auburn fans can tune in on the action on WKKR-FM, 97.7 while Texas fans can do the same on 105.3 The Fan.
Texas A&M comes into the game looking for its fourth straight victory while Auburn will try not to be haunted by quarterback Johnny Manziel once again.
Manziel's average of 305.8 passing yards leads the SEC while his 14 touchdowns rank him third. He's gone 131-for-179 (73.2%) for 1,835 yards with 14 touchdowns and five interceptions while also rushing for 427 yards on 66 carries with five scores.
"He's the best offensive player in college football. He's very good within their system but he's probably even better once things break down," Auburn coach Gus Malzahn told the team's official website about having to come in to face Manziel. "He's a great backyard player. He makes very good decisions and puts a lot of pressure on the defense."
Manziel led the Aggies to a dominant 63-21 road victory against the Tigers last year that saw the then-freshman score five touchdowns with three of them being rushing scores. He went 31-for-39 for 346 yards and an interception last week in a 41-38 win over Ole Miss that also saw the reigning Heisman winner rush 18 times for 113 yards and two scores.
Manziel connected with Travis Labhart eight times for 97 yards--all career highs for Labhart--as an unexpected go-to target last week.
"This time of year, if you're going to continue to win, you're going to have to have guys that play at a high level that maybe before the year you didn't talk about," coach Kevin Sumlin said per ESPN.
Auburn has been great defensively against quarterbacks that air it out, allowing four touchdowns through the air compared with seven interceptions.
Quarterback Nick Marshall returns from a knee injury and will look to lead the Tigers to a win under center. Marshall has gone 71-for-120 (59.2%) for 902 yards with four touchdowns and four interceptions, and is always a threat to run having rushed for 288 yards on 55 attempts with two scores.
"Nick is great on his feet," running back Tre Mason said. "He can do some of the things Johnny can do. He's great on his feet, if not even better. That guy is just a complete athlete and people need to look out for him because he's going to be making plays himself.
Manziel will look to dominate Auburn again while Marshall looks to return with a bang when these teams duke it out this afternoon.
