You know that guy that knows he's lost an argument but keeps on arguing because he just doesn't want to admit he's wrong?
Meet the Washington Redskins.

The misguided NFL franchise blasted apparel giant Adidas for its declaration "that it would offer financial support to any U.S. high school that wants to change its logo or mascot 'from potentially harmful Native American imagery or symbolism,'" The Washington Post reported.
The shoe company sent representatives to a White House Tribal Nations Conference to present its plan to President Obama and American Indian leaders.

Adidas representatives said some 2,000 high schools still use mascot names that "cause concern for many tribal communities."
The Redskins attacked Adidas over its alleged altruism.
"The hypocrisy of changing names at the high school level of play and continuing to profit off of professional like-named teams is absurd," team spokesman Maury Lane said in a statement. "Adidas make hundreds of millions of dollars selling uniforms to teams like the Chicago Blackhawks and the Golden State Warriors, while profiting off sales of fan apparel for the Cleveland Indians, Florida State Seminoles, Atlanta Braves and many other like-named teams."
Adidas responded that its efforts applied only to high schools, was voluntary in basis and was not mandating change.
With all due respect to anyone that believes all Native American imagery should be disconnected from athletic teams, using the term "Warriors" or "Indians" would appear to have a different connotation than "Redskins." The litmus test is replacing "red" with other colors to pair with "skins" and determining the reaction to those terms.
The latest Redskins affront comes on the heels of their appeal of a federal judge ordering the cancellation of their federal trademark registration. In that case, the Redskins admitted their name is offensive by arguing that other registered trademarks that are offensive have not been cancelled, another Post story related.
Redskins owner Daniel Snyder has insisted that the term honors Native Americans and vows he never will change the team's name. Whether the argument is valid in court is one matter; in the court of public opinion, Washington's own actions sink the franchise lower and lower on the "Redskins" debate.
