Today at 8:00 GMT, or 3:00 a.m. ET, Bangladesh and Afghanistan will clash in the cricket 2014 Asia Cup at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah. Live stream the match by clicking this link.
Bangladesh opened up the Asia cup with a loss to India by six wickets, but that doesn't mean there weren't positives. Their bats certainly showed up, as evidenced by the 279-7 they piled up from their 50 overs. Captain Mushfiqur Rahim led the way, with 117, while Anamul Haque chipped in with a 77.
The hot start was impressive, but they weren't able to stave off Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane of India, and dropped the match. Afghanistan also lost their first Asia Cup match, a 72-run defeat at the hands of Pakistan.
Noor Ali Zadran was a bright spot in the matchup, and for Afghanistan to rebound from their loss he will need to repeat the effort or surpass it. He got the Afghans going with a 44 from 63 balls, and that was against a tough crew of Pakistani bowlers.
Bangladesh will be relying on the consistently excellent Mushfiqur Rahim to lead the way as skipper, with some help from the team's top seamer Mashrafe Bin Mortaza. The economical Mortaza had a rate of rate of 4.88 per over against India, and although he went without a wicket, he remains a vital component to Bangladesh's success.
