There has been speculation over the last few weeks that Rey Mysterio may be leaving the WWE after his contract expires in three months, and the rumor has heated up in recent days.

According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, there has been a lot of internal discussion about Mysterio walking away from the company after his deal runs out in three months. With there no longer being a top spot for Mysterio, the internal feeling is that he is preparing to complete his last run and be finished with the company.

The speculation is that Mysterio may end up in the AAA lucha libre organization as they are setting up the launch of a new show on the El Ray network this fall. According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, the show is set to begin taping in Los Angeles this August and could include Rey as a major player since his close friend Konnan from the WCW days is part of it.

WWE HAS MIXED FEELINGS ON KEEPING REY MYSTERIO

Mysterio has been injured often throughout his tenure in WWE, especially in recent years, and could be looking to end the rigorous travel associated with the WWE. The company has mixed feelings on letting Mysterio walk, because even though he's oft injured and not a top talent, Mysterio is one of the biggest merchandise movers in the WWE.

It was speculated that Alberto Del Rio was also unhappy with his place in the organization and could be looking to walk out when his deal expires. Del Rio was frustrated over the fact that he used to be a top guy and is now just used as fodder for Batista to plow through him as he did at Elimination Chamber.

ALBERTO DEL RIO THINKING ABOUT LEAVING WWE WHEN HIS DEAL RUNS OUT

There has been a lot of frustration in the WWE as of late, which led to CM Punk walking out on the company prior to the Jan. 27 edition of Monday Night RAW allegedly due to his frustration with his placement on the card and with part-timers main eventing WrestleMania.

Punk walked out on the company the night after the Royal Rumble pay-per-view and hasn't been seen or heard from since, though the WWE is looking to try and bring him back.

Mysterio is a two-time World Heavyweight Champion, one-time WWE Champion and has held the Intercontinental, Tag Team and Cruiserweight Championships on multiple occasions. He also won the Royal Rumble in 2006.

It seems as though after an impressive tenure with the company, Mysterio's days are numbered.
