When the New York Yankees take the field for their first spring training exhibition game Tuesday, their batters may be facing a hard-throwing Heisman Trophy winner. Florida State quarterback-turned-closer Jameis Winston and the Seminoles are set take on the Bronx Bombers at Steinbrenner Field.

Winston, the 2013 Heisman Trophy winner, may get a chance to face some Yankees hitters on Tuesday.

"I'm looking forward to seeing him," Hall of Fame closer and Yankees spring training instructor Goose Gossage told ESPN.

Winston said he is a fan of the Bronx Bombers and also added that he'll probably be nervous just playing against his favorite team.

"I think I'm going to be a little starstruck," Winston said, according to ESPN.

Winston led the Seminoles to the national title in 2013 with a 14-0 season that was capped off with a 34-31 victory over Auburn on Jan. 6 in the BCS National Championship. Winston has appeared in three baseball games for Florida State thus far this season while allowing just one hit over four scoreless innings in those outings.

The 6-foot-4, 230 pound sophomore went 257-for-384 (66.9 percent) for 4,057 yards as a freshman signal caller for Florida State with 40 touchdowns and 10 interceptions on his way to the Heisman.

Now he'll turn his attention to his favorite baseball team, a Yankees team that will be thrilled to see him pitch.

"It will be fun to watch," Yankees manager Joe Girardi said per ESPN. "Obviously, he's extremely athletic when you watch him play the game of football. He's got a great arm. Pretty mature for his age."

Winston already fulfilled a dream by winning the Heisman Trophy as a freshman, now he may get the chance to pitch against his favorite baseball team when the Seminoles and Yankees clash on Tuesday.
