Jake "The Snake" Roberts has battled through personal demons and has taken on many opponents in the ring, but he revealed on Saturday that he is undergoing a fight with cancer that required emergency surgery for a cancerous tumor behind his knee.

After trouble with drugs and alcohol, Roberts has cleaned up his life and will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this year on the night before WrestleMania XXX. But before he reaches that achievement, he has to undergo surgery to remove the cancerous growth.

According to Hollywood Life, the tumor began growing into his muscle, causing him to have to go under the knife to remove it. TMZ revealed that Roberts discovered the growth a month ago and that it was the size of a half-dollar. According to the report, Roberts found out on Friday via a phone call from his doctors that tests on his knee came back positive for cancer.

Roberts will have surgery to remove it on Monday and if it all goes according to plan, the cancer will be gone and Roberts will be fine. Roberts told Hollywood Life that he plans on being back in the ring by Mar. 14 for Jersey Championship Wrestling.

"If the devil can't defeat me, cancer doesn't stand a chance in hell!" Jake said via the publication. "Pray for the sick children who face this horrible disease 'cause The Snake will be just fine."

Roberts had a memorable career and is mostly remembered for his time in the WWE, and while he never won any singles titles he remains as one of the most popular figures in the WWE from the late 1980s and early 1990s.

Roberts' battles with drugs and alcohol put him on the outs with the WWE, but after resurrecting his life with the help of Diamond Dallas Page and his DDP Yoga, Roberts' road to redemption will reach its ultimate achievement when he is inducted into the Hall of Fame on April 5 at the New Orleans Arena the night before WrestleMania XXX.
