Four-time league MVP LeBron James won't be doing the sequel to Michael Jordan's 1996 film Space Jam, refuting a recent report that he will be starring in the animated movie.

On Friday, Deadline Hollywood reported that James was to star opposite Bugs Bunny in the sequel to Jordan's highly-successful Space Jam movie. It cited that the sons of broadcasting veteran Dick Ebersol- - Charlie and Willie-have developed a concept for the follow-up to the animated/live-action hit. Space Jam was also headlined by other NBA stars back then like Charles Barkley and Patrick Ewing. It grossed $230 million worldwide for Warner Bros.

According to Deadline Hollywood, Charlie Ebersol will produce the film while his brother Willie will write the script. The writer of the said story also speculated about the possible project: "This one should be equally power-charged with NBA players and beloved Warner Bros characters - a fun departure from the more serious fare Charlie Ebersol has been involved with."

But on Friday night, the camp of James denied the report. According to ESPN's Brian Windhorst as reported by SI.com: Well it was fun while it lasted. LeBron sources refute Deadline report, there's no Space Jam 2 or Warner Bros. project in works.

Windhorst had earlier reported that James will be doing a feature film co-starring comedian Kevin Hart. The movie to be called "Ballers" will be written by Hart who will play the brother of an NBA star played by James himself. The movie's tentative shooting schedule will be this summer in Miami.
