It has been reported that the WWE and Sting have agreed to terms on a deal that will bring the WCW legend and TNA icon to the WWE for the first time in his career, and while its unknown if he will appear at WrestleMania XXX on April 6 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, the WWE has posted an article up about him.

Bill Apter published a column on WWE.com about the many faces of Sting over the years and describe the superstar, who is expected to join the WWE at any time.

"More than 25 years since he became a good guy, Sting is still a presence in the ring, as well as at numerous charity events," Apter wrote for WWE.com "He's a true legend with a constant drive to always be one step better than the day before. His best days may still be yet to come."

It had been speculated for months that the WWE would be bringing in Sting for an encounter with The Undertaker at WrestleMania, but over the last couple of weeks it has been reported that the WWE may not be using Sting as part of the biggest event of the year, while he's expected to be used at WrestleMania 31 next year in the Bay Area due to his California ties, and he may be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2015.

It was also reported that the WWE was dragging its feet when it comes to signing Sting and that inking him to a deal was seen as a "low priority." The WWE has been planning to go with a Brock Lesnar vs. Undertaker match at WrestleMania XXX rather than a match pitting Taker and his undefeated streak against Sting, however Sting reportedly still wants a match with The Undertaker this year at the event.

According to a report by Wrestlingheadlines.com, Sting is still hoping to have a match with 'Taker, and since he lives in the Dallas area he was even willing to travel to The Undertaker's gym in Texas to rehearse the match over-and-over again. The Undertaker and his opponents at the last few WrestleManias have gone over the match step-by-step beforehand, which is part of the reason the matches have become so memorable.

Lesnar may not be willing to put in the work to go to 'Takers gym to work out a match and there have also been concerns that 'Taker may not be healthy enough to do a physical match that Lesnar would want to put on, but it still seems as though Sting won't be involved in this year's event, though WWE could be keeping their plans under wraps and downplaying their intents to sign Sting.

As WrestleMania XXX draws near, it appears as though Sting won't be involved in the event while the WWE publishing an article on him hints that he may be appearing in the company soon.
